Volcan del Fuego in Guatemala

A very dramatic situation is currently happening in Guatemala. The Volcan del Fuego, just erupted this last Wednesday and, its eruption was so intense and sudden, that many people could not flee their houses and towns before the ashes started falling on their lands. Villages were wiped-off and, by today, there are over 100 casualties, 200 people who are still missing and 1.7 million people have been declared affected and they are homeless and in deprived from water and food.
National institutions and organizations blame the lack of evacuation procedures for this natural disasters. Today, due to bad weather, all rescue operations were canceled which, some authorities believe, will result in more casualties due to the lack of immediate assistant to people trapped in their lands.

  1. Oh God! This is so sad. I'd heard about this but I didn´t know how serious it was. So many innocent people were affected. Imagine you are watching Tv and then you hear a really loud noise, you go outside and see this volcano erupting. This would be awful, like seriously I would be so scared that I would pass out.
I really hope that the people who were affected by this are okay and that they can move one, because seriously it would be really hard for me...

  2. What an awful news! I feel a lot of pain when I hear about news like this because I remember how as chileans we have suffered all types of natural disasters and the worst part of this is that people don’t have any fault and they lose everything! The other day, we were in history class, and someone commented that this volcano could be activating other volcanos in South America because they are all conected. We have to be alert!
